My Story

My Home Life: I with my paternal Grandmother Namukasa, Florence) and 4 other Grandchildren.

My responsibilities at home are fetching firewood & water from the well, gardening, washing utensils and cleaning the house & compound. My Father is a drug addict and my Mother has a mental health condition.  

My Grandmother works so hard to grow crops in our home garden; she grows crops such as pinto beans, corn, sweet potatoes and bananas for both home consumption and to sell. She can for example harvest 50kg of pinto beans out of the entire season and sells 20kg for 25,000 shillings ($7.14). She also raises local chickens on a small scale. She can sell the mature ones when the family has health challenges but the money she earns from selling some of our yields is not enough to even pay for basic needs at home which is why I need a sponsor so that I can continue going to school.
