Hearts & Hope
My Home Life: I am the second-born, living with my mother, Tabingwa Judith, my maternal grandmother, Mpoyenda Irene, and two siblings. My sister stays with my aunt (my mother’s sister). After the death of my father on 2nd February 2023, my mother could no longer take care of us. He was electrocuted while helping to set up a tent at a function.
Both my mother and grandmother are peasant farmers. They grow crops such as maize, cassava, sweet potatoes, and pinto beans, for both home consumption and sale. They harvest four bags of corn, sell two bags at 50,000 shillings each (about $14.28), and keep two for our household. My grandmother also sells jackfruit from the trees in their garden by the roadside.
Jeremiah is a bright boy in class. He loves and respects his Mother and Grandmother. He is very patient and caring.
