My Home Life:
I am the third-born in my family and live with both of my parents—Nambi Rebecca and Balikitenda Ashraf—and my three siblings: two sisters and one brother. I am a friendly and caring girl.
My father works as a taxi conductor, collecting fares from passengers, but he doesn’t earn much each day. My mother is a peasant farmer. She grows crops like pinto beans, corn, and sweet potatoes, both for home consumption and for sale. For example, after a growing season of four to five months, she may harvest three 100kg bags of corn. She usually sells two bags at 100,000 shillings ($28.57) each and keeps one for our family to eat.
The money my parents earn is used to meet our basic needs and to send us to school. However, it is not enough—and that is why I am asking for your support to help me stay in school and achieve my dreams.
