Hearts & Hope
My Home Life: I am the third-born in my family and live with my mother, Nakirijja Liz, and my three siblings—two sisters and one brother. I am a friendly and obedient child who listens to my mother and older siblings.
My parents separated, and my father abandoned us. His whereabouts are unknown, and he does not provide any financial support.
My mother is a tailor who mends clothes from our home using her sewing machine. She earns about 500 shillings ($.14) per item, but there are often days when she has no work at all. She is also a peasant farmer, growing vegetables like leafy greens (such as spinach) and eggplants in our home garden for both our meals and for sale. She earns a small profit of about 8,000 shillings ($2.29) per month from selling the vegetables.
The money my mother makes from tailoring and farming is used to meet our basic needs and send my siblings and me to school. However, it is not enough. That is why I am kindly asking for your support to help me continue my education and achieve my goals in life.
