Hearts & Hope
My Home Life: I am the second-born in my family and live with my parents—Nakiyemba Faridah and Galyana Peter—and my three siblings: one brother and two sisters.
My father is a casual laborer who works at construction sites as a porter, earning about 7,000 shillings ($2.00) a day. However, this kind of work is not consistent—once a building project is completed, he can go for months without any job. My mother is a tailor who mends clothes for people in our village, but she also does not get customers every day. She earns between 500 and 1,000 shillings ($.14-$.28) per garment.
The money my parents earn is used to cover all our basic needs at home and to send my siblings and me to school. Unfortunately, it is not enough. That is why I am kindly asking for your support to help me continue my education and achieve my dreams.
