**Jonathan is the 3rd born in his family living with both parents and siblings in a home of two grass thatched houses. One single house is for the parents and the other on Biographye is for the 6 children.** **Both peasants are casual laborers; they dig in other people’s gardens. They can dig from morning to afternoon (6am – 12pm) and each earns UGX.3000 - 4000/= a day($.86-$1.14). Such casual work is seasonal and it is done by many people in their village therefore, Jonathan’s parents do not get this casual work on a daily or weekly basic.** **The parents are also peasant farmers who grow crops such as maize, beans, sorghum and cassava (root tuber) in their home garden but only for home consumption. The money Jonathan’s parents earn from casual laboring is used to pay for their basic needs at home and also to send the kids to school, but it’s not enough hence needing help with their child’s education.**
