**Violet is the 5th born in her family living with both parents in a house of one living room and two bedrooms. Violet gets sent home for school fees many times when the parents fail to raise money for her education. She did not study last year because her parents could not raise enough money for her education.**
**Violet’s parents are casual laborers; they work in other people’s gardens by digging as a way to earn a living. If they dig from morning to afternoon for one to two weeks, they can earn $8.57. Digging in other people’s gardens is seasonal and it is done by many people in their village so, she doesn’t get such work on a monthly basis. They have a garden where they grow crops like maize, beans, sweet potatoes and cassava for only home consumption. The money Violet’s parent’s earn out of casual laboring is used to pay for their basic needs like buying kerosene for their table lamp, soap for laundry, paying for their medical bills and paying for their children’s school fees but it’s not enough hence needing help with their child’s education.**
