My Story

Shadrach is the 3rd born in his family living with his mother and siblings in one bedroom & living room house. Shadrach’s father passed away this year (2019).** **Shadrach’s mother is a casual laborer; she digs in other people’s gardens to earn money. She can for example dig from morning to evening for six days and earns UGX.15000 ($4.29). Such work is done by many people in their village and it is seasonal. Therefore, she does not get work on a weekly basis throughout the year. They grow foods such as maize (corn), pinto beans and sweet potatoes in their home garden. The foor is for home consumption only.** **The money Shadrach’s mother earns from casual laboring is used to pay for their needs at home and also send the kids to school, but it’s not enough hence needing help with her child’s education.**
