**Mukisa is the 5th born in his family living with his mother and siblings in a one bedroom & living room house. His parents separated four years ago and the father does not send any financial support to his family. **
**Mukisa’s mother is a casual laborer; she digs in other people’s gardens as a way to earn a living. She can for example dig from morning to evening for 1-2 weeks and earn $8.57. She does not get such work on a weekly basis because it is seasonal and it is done by many people in their village.**
**They have a small garden where they grow crops such as maize, beans, sweet potatoes and cassava for only home consumption. The money Mukisa’s mother earns from casual laboring is used to pay for their basic needs such as buying kerosene for their table lamp, soap for laundry, paying for their medical bills and paying for the children’s school tuition but it’s not enough hence needing help with her child’s education.**
