My Story

**Faith is the 6th born in her family living with her Mother and 5 siblings in a one room house with a tin roof.** **Faith’s father passed away leaving her Mother to solely care for her 6 children. The Mother is a peasant farmer who grows crops such as maize, pinto beans, tomatoes, sweet potatoes and cassava (root tuber) in their home garden for both home consumption and to sell. She can for example harvest one bag of maize weighing 100kgs and sell the whole bag for UGX.40000 ($11.43), harvest two baskets of tomatoes out of the entire season and sell them for UGX.200 ($0.057). She sells most and leaves some for home consumption.** **The money Faith’s mother earns from selling some of their yields is used to pay for home basic needs and also send the kids to school, but it’s not enough hence needing help with Faith’s education.**
