My Story

**Christine is the 4th born in her family living with both parents and siblings in a one living room and two-bedroom house. Both parents are peasant farmers who grow crops such as maize, pinto beans, sweet potatoes and cassava (root tuber) in their home garden for both home consumption and to sell. They can for example harvest one bag of beans weighing 100kgs and sell 50kgs for UGX.25000 ($7.14) leaving the other 50kgs for home consumption, harvest two bags of corn (maize) each bag weighing 100kgs out of the entire season, sell one bag at UGX.50000 ($14.28) and leave the other bag for home consumption. The money Christine’s parents earn from selling some of their yields is used to pay for their basic needs at home and also send the children to school but it isn’t not enough hence needing help with their child’s education.**
