My Story

AN INTRODUCTION TO ZIYADI
I live in Makota Village with my parents, Nakabugo
Halima and Bakaki Faizo, in a small home with one
bedroom and one living room. I am the third-born of five
children, with four brothers.
My parents are peasant farmers who grow maize, pinto
beans, and cassava mainly for our family’s consumption.
When farm work is insufficient, they seek casual labor in
other people’s gardens. After three to four days of hard
manual work, each earns only about $2.90, making it
difficult to meet our family’s basic needs.
At home, I help by washing dishes, collecting water from
the borehole, working in the garden, and cleaning the
house and compound. Despite our financial challenges, I
remain hardworking and determined to continue my
education. I believe education is my best opportunity to
build a brighter future for myself and my family.
I humbly ask for your support to help me continue my
studies. Assistance with school fees, scholastic materials,
and other educational needs would bring me closer to
achieving my dreams. I promise to work hard and make
the most of this valuable opportunity.
