AN INTRODUCTION TO LIVINGSTONE
I live in Makota Village with my siblings and our maternal
grandmother, Nabirye Nuub, in a small home with one
bedroom and one living room. I am the second-born of
seven children, with six sisters. My father passed away in
an accident in 2023 after experiencing mental health
challenges. My mother visits us occasionally but does not
provide financial support for our family.
At home, I help my grandmother by washing dishes,
collecting water from the borehole, working in the garden,
and cleaning the house and compound. My grandmother is
a peasant farmer who grows maize, groundnuts, cassava,
and pinto beans, mainly for our family’s consumption. She
also takes on casual labor to support us. However, her
limited income makes it difficult to meet all our basic
needs.
Despite these challenges, I remain humble, hardworking,
and determined to pursue my education. I believe
education can help me build a better future. I humbly ask
for your support to help me stay in school, achieve my
dreams, and create a brighter future for myself and my
family.
