AN INTRODUCTION TO HILDA
I live in Makota Village with my siblings and our maternal
grandmother, Nabirye Nuub. I am the first-born of seven
children—one boy and five girls among my siblings. We live
together in a small one-bedroom house.
My father passed away in 2023 following an accident after
experiencing mental health challenges. My mother visits us
occasionally but is unable to provide financial support. My
grandmother has taken responsibility for caring for us and
doing her best to meet our needs.
At home, I help by washing dishes, collecting water, working in
the garden, and cleaning our home and compound. My
grandmother is a peasant farmer who grows maize,
groundnuts, cassava, and beans, mainly for our family’s food.
She also works as a casual laborer to earn additional income,
but her resources are limited.
Despite these challenges, I am a humble, hardworking, and
determined girl who values education. I believe education can
help me build a better future for myself and my family.
I humbly ask for educational support to help me remain in
school and achieve my dreams. Your support would give me
hope and the opportunity to create a brighter future.
