AN INTRODUCTION TO SHAMINA
I live in Makota Village with my mother, Ndiza Samali, and
two of my siblings. I am the third-born of five children, all
girls. My father passed away in a car accident in 2021, leaving
my mother to care for our family on her own. Because she
could not afford to support us all, one of my siblings was sent
to live with a relative.
At home, I help my mother by washing dishes, collecting water,
and cleaning our home and compound.
My mother works as a casual laborer, doing laundry for people
in our village. She earns only about $1.50-$2.90 after several
hours of work, making it difficult to meet our family’s basic
needs and afford my education.
Despite these challenges, I am a humble, obedient, and
hardworking girl who values education. I am determined to
remain in school, work hard, and build a better future for
myself and my family.
I humbly ask for educational support to help me continue my
studies and achieve my dreams. Your support would give me
hope and an opportunity to create a brighter future.
