My Story

AN INTRODUCTION TO PROMISE
I live in Makota Village with my parents, Namulinda Sylvia
and Bagenze Godfrey, and my eight siblings. I am the sixth
born of nine children—three girls and five boys. We live
together in a modest two-bedroom house.
At home, I help my family by washing dishes, collecting water
and firewood, doing laundry, working in the garden, cooking,
and cleaning our home and compound. These responsibilities
have taught me to be hardworking, responsible, and caring.
My parents work at a stone quarry, where they pay $14.30 in
monthly rent and earn about $26.60 in profit each month.
They also grow maize, beans, cassava, sweet potatoes, and
groundnuts to provide food for our family.
With nine children to support and limited income, meeting our
family’s needs, including education, is difficult. Despite these
challenges, I remain determined to continue my studies and
build a better future.
I humbly ask for educational support to help me stay in
school, achieve my dreams, and one day give back to my
family and community. I am committed to working hard and
making the most of this opportunity.
