My Story

I live in Makota Village with my parents, Nabirye Edisa
(mother) and Bagaga Joseph (father), and my three siblings. I
am the third-born child in our family, with two brothers and
one sister. We all live together in a small home with two
bedrooms and one living room.
At home, I help with various household responsibilities,
including washing dishes, collecting water from the borehole,
gathering firewood for cooking, doing laundry, working in the
garden, cooking, and keeping our house and compound clean.
My parents are peasant farmers who grow food crops such as
beans, cassava, maize, and groundnuts, mainly for our family’s
consumption. To supplement the family’s income, they also
work as casual laborers in other people’s gardens. For
example, they may work from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for four to
five days, during which they earn a combined total of about
UGX 40,000 ($10.22).
Because our family income is limited, it is difficult for my
parents to meet all our needs, including the cost of my
education. I am a humble and determined girl who values
education and is committed to achieving my dreams. I am
therefore kindly requesting educational support to help me
continue my studies and work toward a brighter future. Thank
