I live in Makota Village with my father, Kamira Patrick, and my siblings in a three-bedroom house with one living room. I am the seventh-born child in a family of eight children, consisting of four boys and four girls. At home, I help with various household responsibilities, including washing dishes, fetching water from the borehole, collecting firewood for cooking, doing laundry, working in the garden, cooking, and keeping our house and compound clean. My parents are separated, and my father is my sole caregiver. My mother visits us occasionally but does not provide regular financial support. My father is a peasant farmer who grows crops such as maize (corn), cassava, pinto beans, and sweet potatoes. During the harvest season, he produces about six to seven bags of maize. He usually sells four bags for between UGX 50,000 and 70,000 ($12.87-$18.01) per bag, depending on market demand, and keeps the remaining bags for our family's consumption. In addition to farming, our family also rears seven chickens, which provide a small amount of supplementary income. Although my father works hard to provide for our family, his income is not enough to meet all our household needs, especially the cost of educating a large family. I am determined to continue my education and work hard to achieve my goals. Your support would help ease the financial burden on my father and give me the opportunity to pursue my education and work toward a brighter future
