My Story

I live in Makota Village with my mother, Muwuliza Sylvia, and my siblings in a small home with one bedroom and one living room. I am the sixth-born child in a family of eight children, with one brother and six sisters. At home, I help with various household responsibilities, including washing dishes, fetching water from the borehole, collecting firewood for cooking, doing laundry, working in the garden, cooking, and keeping our house and compound clean. My parents separated, and since then, my mother has struggled to provide for our family on her own. She earns a small income through a business of buying and reselling tomatoes, eggplants, and avocados. Her business operates with a capital of only about UGX 20,000 ($5.15) and earns approximately UGX 2,000 ($0.51) in profit each week. This income is not enough to meet our family's basic needs and cover the cost of my education. I am a determined student who values education and is committed to achieving my goals.
