My Story

I live in Makota Village with my mother, Naafa Janet, my stepfather, and my siblings. I am the sixth-born child in a family of eight children, consisting of five boys and two girls. We all live together in a modest home with two bedrooms and one living room. At home, I help with various household responsibilities, including washing dishes, fetching water from the borehole, collecting firewood for cooking, doing laundry, working in the garden, cooking, and keeping our house and compound clean. My father passed away in 2021 from an unknown illness, after which my mother remarried. Since then, she has continued raising us with the support of her new husband. My mother is a peasant farmer who grows food crops such as corn, cassava, beans, sweet potatoes, and bananas, mainly for our family's consumption. She also works as a casual laborer, clearing other people's gardens to earn an income of between UGX 20,000 and 30,000 ($5.09-$7.64), depending on the workload. Despite my mother's hard work, our family's income is not enough to meet all our basic needs, including the costs of my education. This makes it difficult for me to continue my studies without assistance. That is why I am seeking educational support to help me continue my education, achieve my goals, and build a better future for myself and my family.
