Hearts & Hope
My Home Life: I am the fifth-born child in my family, with six siblings—three boys and three girls. We live with both of our parents, Nandela Judith (mother) and Opio Jofter (father).
At home, I help with household responsibilities such as cleaning our house and compound, collecting firewood for cooking, fetching water from the borehole, and preparing tea.
Both of my parents are peasant farmers. They grow crops such as cassava, maize, pinto beans, and sweet potatoes, mainly for home consumption and occasionally for sale. For example, after a farming season of about three to four months, they may harvest cassava and earn approximately UGX 200,000 from its sale.
Despite their hard work, the income my parents earn from selling part of our harvest is not enough to meet all our basic needs and pay school fees for me and my siblings.
For this reason, I am seeking sponsorship to continue my education and achieve my dreams for a better future.
