My Story

My Home Life:

I am the second-born child in my family, with one sibling, a younger brother. We live with our mother, Namunana Zabina, while our father is rarely at home because he has another family with a wife and children elsewhere.

At home, I help with household responsibilities such as making tea, working in the garden, cleaning our house and compound, washing dishes, and collecting both firewood for cooking and water from the borehole.

My father does casual jobs, but the income he earns is very limited, making the financial support he provides insufficient to meet all our basic needs. My mother is a peasant farmer who grows crops such as maize, groundnuts, sweet potatoes, pinto beans, and cassava. For example, she may harvest about 150 kilograms of maize and sell a portion of it whenever there is a financial need at home.

The money my mother earns from selling part of our harvest, together with the support my father occasionally provides, is not enough to cover our basic needs and pay school fees for my brother and me. For this reason, I am seeking sponsorship to continue my education and achieve my dreams for a better future.
