My Story

My Home Life: I am the third-born child in my family. I have three siblings—two boys and one girl. I live with my mother, who is rarely at home, and my maternal grandmother, Mutesi Kasfah, who is the primary caregiver for our family.

At home, I help with household responsibilities such as collecting firewood, fetching water from the well, doing laundry, cooking, washing dishes, and keeping our house and compound clean.

My parents are separated, and my father’s whereabouts are unknown. My mother works hard as a waitress in a nearby town, where she earns between UGX 3,000 and UGX 5,000 per day. She saves part of her earnings and sends us support whenever she can, and she visits us occasionally.

My grandmother is a peasant farmer who grows crops such as maize, cassava, sweet potatoes, pinto beans, and groundnuts. These crops are used mainly for home consumption, and a portion is sold to earn income.

However, the money my mother sends and the income my grandmother earns from selling part of the harvest are not enough to meet our basic needs and pay school fees. For this reason, I am seeking sponsorship to continue my education and achieve my goals in life.
