My Story

My Home Life: I am the fifth-born child in my family. I have four siblings—two boys and two girls—who are now grown and have moved out of the family home. My mother is Balina Hawa.

At home, I help with household responsibilities such as fetching water and firewood for cooking, preparing meals, washing clothes, washing dishes, and keeping our house and compound clean.

My father passed away in 2021 due to high blood pressure. My older siblings, who no longer live at home, occasionally send small financial support when they are able to earn from casual jobs.

My mother is a peasant farmer who grows crops such as pinto beans and maize for both home consumption and sale. In a good season, she may harvest about three bags of beans and sell one bag to earn some income. We also keep two goats and two cows that provide milk.
