My Story

My Home Life: I am the fourth-born child in my family. I have three siblings—two boys and one girl. My mother is Nyanuna Aisha, and my father is Balamu Michael.

At home, I help with household responsibilities such as collecting firewood and water from the well, washing dishes, and cleaning the house.

My father works as a boda boda rider and earns about UGX 10,000 after a long day of work. My mother runs a small retail shop in our village, selling basic items such as soap, sugar, and toothpaste. She earns a profit of about UGX 5,000 to UGX 10,000 (about $1.43-$2.86) after four days of sales. In addition, we grow crops such as maize, pinto beans, cassava, and sweet potatoes in our home garden mainly for family consumption.

However, the income my parents earn is not enough to meet our basic needs and pay school fees. For this reason, I am seeking support to continue my education and achieve my dreams for a better future.
