Hearts & Hope
My Home Life:
I am the third born in my family with two brothers who are staying with other relatives after the separation of our parents. I was sent to live with my grandfather called Muteguya Hassan.
At home, I help by collecting firewood and water from the well. I also wash dishes and clean the house and compound.
My mother is not around, and my father lives far away where he is doing casual jobs like working on construction sites, doing garden work for other people, etc. My father sends us little money out of the casual work he does. My grandfather is a peasant farmer; he grows pinto beans, sweet potatoes and maize (corn) for us to eat and partly to sell. The money which my father sends together with what my grandpa gets out of selling part of our harvests is not enough to cover all our basic needs and also send me to school. That is why I need help to continue going to school and achieve my dreams.
