Hearts & Hope
My Home Life: I am the second-born child in my family, with five siblings—one boy and four girls. We live with our parents, Tenywa Falid (father) and Nakisige Aisha (mother).
At home, I help with household responsibilities such as cleaning the compound and fetching water from the borehole.
My parents are peasant farmers who grow crops such as maize, groundnuts, and pinto beans for both home consumption and sale. For example, they may harvest three bags of maize, each weighing about 100 kilograms. They usually sell one bag for between UGX 40,000 (about $11.43) and UGX 80,000 (about $22.86), depending on market demand, and keep the remaining two bags for family consumption while preparing for the next planting season.
