Hearts & Hope
My Home Life: I am the first-born child in my family, with four siblings—two girls and two boys. We live with both of our parents, Nakyegwe Janat (mother) and Kimera Faishali (father).
At home, I help with various household responsibilities, including cooking, washing clothes, working in the garden, cleaning our house and compound, washing dishes, and collecting both firewood for cooking and water from the borehole.
My father buys and resells food crops such as bananas, while my mother is engaged in a small business selling smoked fish. She uses a capital of about UGX 70,000 and makes a profit of approximately UGX 25,000 (about $7.14) after one week of hard work. In addition to their businesses, both of my parents are peasant farmers who grow crops mainly for home consumption.
However, the income they earn from farming and small businesses is not enough to meet all our basic needs and pay school fees for me and my siblings. Because of these financial challenges, I am seeking sponsorship to continue my education and work toward achieving my dreams for a better future.
