My Story

My Home Life: I am the fourth-born child in my family, with three siblings, all of whom are girls. Both of our parents passed away due to HIV/AIDS—our father in 2021 and our mother in 2024. After their death, I went to live with my paternal grandmother, Nandhego Minina, while my siblings went to live with other relatives.

At home, I help with various household responsibilities, including cooking, working in the garden, cleaning our house and compound, washing dishes, and collecting both firewood for cooking and water from the borehole.

My grandmother is a peasant farmer who grows crops such as maize, sweet potatoes, pinto beans, and cassava for both family consumption and sale. For example, she may harvest about three bags of maize, each weighing 100 kilograms. She sells two bags at approximately UGX 60,000 (about $17.14) each and keeps one bag for home consumption.

The income my grandmother earns from selling part of the harvest is not enough to meet all our basic needs or pay school fees for me and my siblings. Despite her hard work, it remains difficult to support our education and daily needs. For this reason, I am seeking sponsorship to help me continue my education and achieve my dreams for a better future.
