My Story

My Home Life: I am the second-born in my family and have one sibling, a brother. We live with our mother, Nakaima Hope, and my stepfather in a rented house that costs 25,000 shillings ($7.14) per month.

At home, I help by doing garden work, cleaning the house and compound, washing dishes, and collecting firewood and water from the borehole. My father passed away in an accident in 2022, and my mother remarried. Both my mother and stepfather are peasant farmers who grow vegetable crops on rented land, as they do not have their own land. For example, they may harvest three bags of maize, each weighing 100 kilograms, and sell two bags at 60,000 shillings ($17.14) each, leaving one bag for home consumption.

In addition, my mother works as a casual laborer washing clothes for others, earning between 5,000-10,000 shillings ($1.43-$2.86) after several hours of work. The combined income from farming and casual labor is not enough to cover all our basic needs or pay school fees. That is why I am seeking a sponsor to help me continue my education and achieve my dreams.
