Hearts & Hope
My Home Life: I am the second-born in a family of five children—two girls and two boys—who are currently staying with other relatives. I live with my paternal aunt, Kezaala Eseza. At home, I help by doing laundry, cleaning the house and compound, washing dishes, and collecting firewood for cooking as well as water from the borehole.
My parents separated and moved to different towns, and they do not provide us with any financial support. My aunt is a casual laborer who works in other people’s gardens to earn money. For example, she may work from morning until noon for four days of hard labor and earn only 20,000 shillings ($5.71). She also runs a small roadside vegetable stall where she sells tomatoes, onions, eggplants, and bell peppers.
However, the income she earns from casual labor and her vegetable stall is not enough to meet our basic needs and pay my school fees. That is why I am seeking a sponsor to help me continue my education and achieve my dreams.
