My Home Life:
I am the first-born in my family and have three sisters. My father’s name is Tenywa Hussein, and my mother’s name is Nabirye Aminah. At home, I help by cooking, doing garden work, collecting firewood and water from the borehole, washing dishes, and keeping our house and compound clean.
My father rides a boda boda and also works as a painter to earn money. For example, he can make about 10,000 shillings ($2.85) from carrying passengers on a boda boda and 20,000 shillings ($5.71) from painting a single room. However, painting jobs do not come regularly, as many people in our village and nearby villages do not need their houses painted often. My mother is a peasant farmer who grows food crops such as beans and maize in our home garden for us to eat.
