Hearts & Hope
My Home Life: I am the third-born in my family and have two siblings, all girls, who live with other relatives. I live with my paternal grandmother, Otela Safirunah, and other grandchildren. At home, I help by collecting firewood and water from the well, washing dishes, and keeping our house and compound clean.
My parents are not together. My mother’s whereabouts are unknown, and my father left our village in search of work. He sometimes sends a small amount of money from the casual work he does, but it is not enough. My grandmother is a peasant farmer who grows beans and maize mainly for our consumption and sells a small portion of the harvest.
The money my father sends, combined with what my grandmother earns from selling part of our crops, is not enough to cover all our needs and school fees. That is why I need support to continue my education and achieve my dreams.
