Hearts & Hope
My Home Life: I am the fifth-born in my family, with five siblings—three boys and two girls. My father’s name is Kozaara Martin, and my mother’s name is Kauma Annet. At home, I help by collecting firewood, keeping our compound clean, collecting water from the well, washing dishes, and cleaning the house.
My father earns money by riding a boda boda, and on a good day he makes about 15,000 shillings (approximately $4.29) in profit. My mother is a peasant farmer who grows food crops such as pinto beans and maize (corn) mainly for family consumption. The income my father earns from riding a boda boda is used to meet our basic needs and pay school fees for my siblings and me, but it is not enough.
Therefore, I need support to continue my education and achieve my dreams.
