Hearts & Hope
My Home Life: I am the fifth-born in a family of five children, with four siblings—three boys and one girl. We live with both of our parents, Nangobi Juliet (my mother) and Kamizi Ramathan (my father). At home, I help by cooking tea, doing garden work, cleaning the house and compound, washing dishes, and collecting firewood for cooking as well as water from the borehole.
Both of my parents are casual laborers who work in other people’s gardens to earn money. For example, they may work from morning to noon for four days and earn about 20,000 shillings ($5.71). My mother has challenges with her eyesight, which limits the amount of work she is able to do compared to my father.
The income my parents earn from casual labor is not enough to meet all our basic needs and pay school fees for me and my siblings. Therefore, I need a sponsor to continue my education and achieve my dreams.
