Hearts & Hope
My Home Life: I live in a one-bedroom brick home in Kamuli Village with my mother, Nabirye Esther. I am the fourth born in a family of five children—three sisters and one brother. At home, my responsibilities include fetching firewood, collecting water from the well, washing utensils, and cleaning the house and compound.
Petra’s Father died three years ago. He was struck by lightning while parking his boda boda on a rainy day. Since then, the Mother has taken on all the responsibilities of the family.
My Mother is a peasant farmer who grows food mainly for home consumption. She does not have a stable source of income, which makes it difficult to meet the basic household needs and pay school fees. That is why Lovisa is seeking educational assistance.
