Hearts & Hope
My Home Life: I live in a one-bedroom brick house in Kamuli Village with my mother, Nabirye Faiza. I am the fifth born in a family of five children—two sisters and three brothers. At home, my responsibilities include collecting water from the well, washing utensils, and cleaning the house and compound.
I lost my father two years ago. He went to sleep with a headache and sadly didn’t wake up the next day. We now live at my mother-in-law’s house, but I am trying to save money to rent a place of our own and move out with my children.
I sell charcoal, which is commonly used for cooking in our area. I earn about 8,000 shillings ($2.26) a day, but this is not enough to cover all of my family's basic needs or pay school fees. That’s why I am in need of educational support.
