Hearts & Hope
My Home Life: I am the fourth-born in a family of five children. We live together in a single-room brick house with our parents—my mother, Gimbo Christine, and my father, Kairugara Tanas. I have four siblings: one brother and three sisters.
At home, I help with chores such as collecting firewood, fetching water from the borehole, washing dishes, and keeping our house and compound clean.
My father is currently unemployed. He used to work as a taxi driver but lost his job. My mother works as a tailor, mending clothes for people in our community. On a good month, she earns around 20,000 shillings (about $5.71) per week, which she uses to buy food—since we don’t have land for gardening—and to meet our other basic needs.
Her small income also has to cover school fees for me and my siblings, but it is not enough. That is why I am kindly seeking your support to continue my education and work toward achieving my dreams for the future.
