Hearts & Hope
My Home Life: I am the third-born in my family and live with my mother and three siblings—one brother and two sisters. My mother’s name is Magoba Zauja.
At home, I help with collecting firewood, fetching water from the well, washing dishes, doing garden work, and keeping our house and compound clean.
My parents separated in 2023, and since then, my father abandoned us and no longer provides any financial support. My mother works hard to take care of us. She cooks and sells snacks at a small school in our village. She runs this business with a small capital of 20,000 shillings (about $5.71) and, after a week of hard work, makes a profit of only 4,000–5,000 shillings ($1.14–$1.43).
In addition to her small business, she grows food crops such as pinto beans, maize (corn), bananas, and cassava in our home garden for our family’s consumption. This helps ensure we have food to eat, especially during weeks when she earns no profit.
The little money she makes is used to cover all our basic needs and pay for school fees. However, it is not enough to support all of us. That is why I am kindly seeking a sponsor to help me continue my education and achieve my dreams.
