My Home Life: I live in a one-bedroom brick house in Butangala village with my aunt, Kyabaki Rose. I am the firstborn in my family and have one sister and two brothers. At home, my responsibilities include fetching firewood, collecting water from the well, washing utensils, and cleaning both the house and the compound.
I lost my father in a car accident when I was just four years old. He was a boda boda (motorcycle taxi) driver and was hit by a sugarcane truck while carrying a passenger—sadly, both of them died in the accident.
After that, my mother left us in the care of her sister, but we no longer hear from her and she does not provide any financial support. My aunt works as a casual laborer, helping someone rear chickens. In exchange, we are given food and a place to stay. However, she has no stable income to meet our basic needs or pay for school fees.
