My Home Life: My name is Mbyansi Godrey, and I am the uncle of Mugenyi Elijah. We live in a one-bedroom brick house in Nambongo village with Elijah’s two sisters and one brother. At home, Elijah’s responsibilities include fetching firewood, collecting water from the well, washing utensils, and cleaning both the house and compound.
Elijah lost his father when he was just seven months old, and his mother is mentally unwell. I am the one caring for her and the children. To earn a living, I make and sell bricks, but I only manage to earn about 30,000 shillings (approximately $8.57) per month. This small income is insufficient to cover school fees for my own children, as well as my nieces and nephew. It also does not meet other essential needs such as rent and medical care for their mother.
For these reasons, I am seeking educational support to help these children continue their education and build a better future.
