My Home Life: I live in a one-bedroom brick house in Butangala village with my father, Kiirya Steven & my Grandmother. I am the last born in a family of two sisters and three brothers. At home, my responsibilities include fetching firewood, collecting water from the well, washing utensils, and cleaning both the house and the compound.
My mother passed away when I was five years old due to high blood pressure. Since then, I have been living with my father and siblings. My father is a peasant farmer—he grows food for our home and also works in other people’s gardens to earn a small income. He earns about 10,000 shillings (approximately $2.86) per month, which is not enough to cover school fees or meet our basic needs at home.
I have been chosen by my school for a chance at sponsorship because I was the best student in my class. For me to continue my education and achieve my dreams, I sincerely hope this opportunity will be granted so that my future can be brighter.
