Hearts & Hope
My Home Life:
My name is Colline, and I live in Butogonha Village with my mother, Nalukoda Catherine Babirye. My father, Makumbi Colline, and my mother separated. I have one sister, and I am the firstborn in the family.
At home, I help with various responsibilities such as fetching firewood and water from the borehole, cooking, washing utensils, doing garden work, and cleaning the house and compound.
My mother is a peasant farmer who earns very little from her garden produce. At times, she also works as a casual laborer in other people's gardens to supplement her income. However, most of what she earns goes toward meeting the family’s basic and social needs.
Because of these financial struggles, she often fails to pay my school fees and other dues. That is why I am seeking support to continue with my education and work toward achieving my dream.
