My Story

My Home Life: My name is Zabera, and I live in Butogonha Village with my aunt, Nabwire Teddy, and my cousin brother. We stay in a grass-thatched, single-room house with mud walls. Both of my parents passed away—my father, Samanya Kimila, died on January 20, 2025, and my mother, Nalugo Suzan, passed away in August 2023. I started living with my aunt this year. I have three siblings—one brother and two sisters—and I am the youngest in the family.

At home, I help with chores such as fetching firewood and water from the borehole, washing utensils, and cleaning the house and compound.

My aunt is a peasant farmer who earns very little from her garden produce. Most of her small income is used to meet the family’s basic and social needs.

This year, I have often been sent home for school fees and other dues, which is why I am seeking support to continue my education and work toward achieving my dream.
