My Story

My Home Life: I live in Nalwire Village with my parents in a grass-thatched house. There is another grass-thatched house where we, the children, sleep. My mother’s name is Auma Scovia, and my father is Okumu Robert Abangi. I have five siblings—three brothers and two sisters—and I am the third-born in the family.

At home, I help with many responsibilities, including fetching firewood, collecting water from the borehole, washing utensils, cleaning the house and compound, working in the garden, and cooking.

My parents work very hard as peasant farmers, but they can only afford to meet some of our basic needs. They often struggle to pay school fees for me and my siblings. This is why I am seeking support—to continue my education and work toward achieving my dream.
