My Story

My Home Life:  I live in Kiboyo village with my maternal grandparents. I am the firstborn in my family. My grandmother's name is Kasifah Mutesi, and my grandfather's name is Yasuli Musalwa. My responsibilities at home include fetching firewood, collecting water from the well, washing utensils, and cleaning the house and compound. My mother became pregnant with me while she was still in school and had to drop out. My father does not provide any financial support. After my mother got married to another man, she became a housewife with no income and sent me to live with my grandparents. My grandparents work hard as peasant farmers, growing crops like corn, pinto beans, groundnuts, and sweet potatoes, primarily for home consumption. The income they earn is used to cover our basic needs and my schooling, but it is not sufficient. This is why I need assistance to continue my education.
