Mary's Story...

It was brought to the attention of our staff that a girl was having trouble with her studies because she couldn't see the board. Upon further investigation it was discovered that her mother was blind and Mary was genetically inclined to blindness. With the help and support of her sponsor and medical fund we were able to get Mary evaluated by a specialist and treated. She was diagnosed with advanced glaucoma and needed surgery in order to save the remaining vision she still had. After surgery, we were told that Mary had even gained back some of the vision she lost and if she remains faithful with her medication and eye drops, she can maintain it to ensure she can continue her studies and help her mother at home.
