My Story

My Home Life:

I am the third born in my family living in a house of two bedrooms and one living room with mother and siblings. My Mother’s name is Nakato, Zaina.  My Father died from cancer on September 3, 2023. My responsibilities at home are fetching water from the well, washing utensils, cultivating and cleaning the compound.

My Mother buys and resells firewood. At the start, she invested 200,000 shillings ($57.14) into the business, but she now makes 30,000 shillings ($8.57) per month as profit. My Uncle (brother to my late father) chips in and buys us some basic needs for at home, but since he also has a family to take care of, his support does not come in on a monthly basis. The money my Mother earns from reselling firewood is used to pay for our basic needs at home and also to send my siblings and I to school, but it’s not enough.  That is why I need a sponsor so that I can continue going to school.
